CDM 2007 Forum... A Great Sucess
Linbrook’s CDM 2007 Discussion Forum that took place over a serise of dates from July to November 2007 addressed the first topic in an ongoing programme that will focus on key strategic issues effecting the building and maintenance industry. These forums proved to be highly successful events, de-mystifying the new Construction, Design and Management Regulations, helping a range industry professionals get to grips with how it effects their responsibilities. Most dates were over subscribed and delegate feedback was unanimously positive. “The speakers put the subject across very well and the handouts have come into use in my daily work”. “I found the forum particularly helpful, being able to talk with other people who work with the regulations on a regular basis gives a much better idea of how they work in practice rather than just theory.”
“All in all it was a very positive experience.”
The highlight of the event was the role play exercise where the delegates worked in teams that represent the key players in the CDM process reviewing the health and safety issues of a real life project from their allocated points of view, identifying their specific responsibilities and carrying out a risk analysis. "The practical example was also worthwhile and demonstrated the usefulness of a risk assessment and also the disadvantages of using a generic format". |
